We’ve enjoyed great weather and a large variety of fishing opportunities recently. No one knows what our weather will do in the future so far it has been an unusually warm and comfortable extended summer. We are expecting a minor cooler front tomorrow and they will push thru frequently this time of the year. We want to try and pick the best day in between these events to get outside fishing. We are lucky to have inside fishing if it is windy. We don’t get a lot of rain this time of year so if we have a few days to select from we can expect to choose a fair weather day. Let’s try to plan your fishing trip early in your stay so we can shift to accommodate your desires with the weather changes.
When we can get outside, we may find tripletail, mackerel, barracudas, snapper, etc… Mackerel are migratory; passing by this time of year. If it does get colder they will migrate father south. Snapper will always be around and we find a few flounder soon too. The sheepshead will begin to gather and show up soon too. Grouper are closed now.
Inside we have spotted sea trout and some redfish. Sheepshead, flounder, pompano, and a few mackerel or bluefish add to our pole bending too. We can usually find something to enjoy and provide lunch also.
The manatees and dolphin always provide extra entertainment between bites. Eagles and osprey are abundant now and continuously flying by. It’s easy to find something to enjoy while boating in this area. Let’s plan an adventure for your family soon. Captain Van Hubbard
