1-24-10 Captain Van’s report.

Fishing is fine but I am refinishing Let’s Go Fishin’ so she’ll be pretty for the approaching fishing season.

Other captains are report some good trout fishing and a few sheepshead. Redfish are around if you put in some time and effort. I am busy cleaning and refinishing the 23 Dorado.

I emptied out all the gear and pressure cleaned everything. Then rented a sand blaster at the local True Value and roughed up the interior so the new gel coat would stick. I am working at Roy Bennett’s shop off of Gasparilla road. He is the pro and helping make sure I do a good job. I’ll keep you up to date but he started new finish on inside today and it is already looking good. Be back on the water ASAP! It’s time to get your reservations for Spring fishing as soon as you can. Waters are already warming up and Mackerel will be here soon!
